Every community, country and civilisation has a class of people it loves and reveres. For Muslims it is there ulama. Their virtue can be gauged from the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, ‘The ulama are the heirs of the Prophets…’ [Tirmidhi].
The ulama are the protectors of the religion and so to love them is to love Islam, and to help them is to help Islam. To neglect them and deny them, means to extinguish the light of Allah and thereby spread corruption in the world.
DonateSadly, many hardworking ulama, especially in poor rural areas, are being neglected and even forgotten. They are given measly income, and even no income at all, for rendering their special services.
To remedy this, Ummah Welfare Trust provides financial assistance to poor and under-resourced ulama allowing them to focus on nurturing the next generation of Muslims. Both monthly grants, as well as large single grants, are given depending on the need.
Grants are currently being given to ulama in India, Jammu Kashmir, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
