Types of violations include for which a Kaffarah would be necessary include:
When a person takes an oath to fulfil or abstain from a particular action and then breaks that oath.
The expiation is feeding ten poor persons, this can be done by providing two full meals to ten needy persons or giving the equivalent amount of food (Sadaqatul Fitr) or its value (Sadaqatul Fitr).
If a person deliberately breaks the fast during the month of Ramadan without a valid reason.
The expiation for this is fasting 60 consecutive days (specific details may vary – please consult a qualified scholar). If one cannot do these fasts due to poor health or old age then one must feed sixty poor persons.
It’s important to note that the details of Kaffarah can vary among different schools of Islamic jurisprudence, and the guidance of a qualified scholar should be sought for specific situations or questions related to one’s personal Kaffarah.
